DIY: Ground Seeds for Smoothies - Flax and Chia

If your smoothie or recipe in general calls for ground flax or chia seeds you can easily make your own. It is cheaper to buy organic, non-GMO seeds and pulse to a fine powder in either a coffee grinder in my case Nutribullet. The Nutribullet comes with a blade to pulse dry items. The seeds should be pulsed until a fine powder and stored in an airtight container. If you want to prolong the shelf life, store in the refrigerator (max. 6 months).
