The start of a long journey

1. My bone marrow is CANCER FREE!!!!
2. I made it through the first of my 12 chemo sessions on this R-ABVD treatment plan.
I'll try to give a very brief overview, yesterday I was hooked up to an IV for 6 hours. The Rituxan wasn't that bad at all usually you have allergy like reactions during the infusion at which point it has to be stopped, wait until the side effects go away and them it's started again. side effects can range from mild cold like symptoms to air ways closing up, luckily I only had a mild reaction; an itchy throat, which then felt like a sore throat, some sneezing and coughing. It flet like I was getting a cold. It lasted for only 30 minutes and then I was fine. I was given very strong benadryl via IV and when I had the reaction. My nurse MH was very surprised that I didn't even get drowsy from the benadryl. I had no further side effects and had no trouble during the nightNext week will be very busy, I have to have another surgery to have a port placed under the skin of my chest, then I have a chemo class, and then a very long day when I get R and ABVD together for the first time.
